"Positions"
In finance, "positions" refer to the amount of a specific asset, such as stocks, bonds, or commodities, that an individual or firm currently owns or has invested in. It reflects the level of exposure or commitment to that asset. A long position means owning the asset with hopes its value will increase, while a short position involves borrowing and selling an asset expecting its price will fall. Managing positions helps investors control risk and align their investments with their strategies and market outlooks.
