ports and harbours
Ports are designated areas along coastlines where ships can load and unload goods or passengers, often featuring infrastructure like docks, cranes, and storage facilities. Harbours are naturally or artificially protected bodies of water that provide a safe anchorage for ships, shielding them from rough weather and waves. While all ports are within harbours, not all harbours are used as ports. Ports serve as critical nodes in global trade, facilitating the movement of goods, resources, and people, and are equipped to handle maritime logistics efficiently.
