Pomorze Army

The Pomorze Army was a Polish military unit formed in 1939 to defend western Poland during the early days of World War II. It was tasked with resisting invading German forces and protecting crucial regions, especially around Poznań and Gdańsk. Comprising various divisions and forces, the army aimed to halt or slow the German advance. Despite putting up determined resistance, it was overwhelmed by the rapid and overwhelming German invasion in September 1939, marking the beginning of Poland's occupation. The Pomorze Army's efforts are remembered as part of Poland's broader wartime resistance.
