Polywell Fusion
Polywell fusion is a type of experimental nuclear fusion that uses powerful magnetic fields to contain and heat a plasma of hydrogen isotopes, creating conditions for nuclear fusion. It employs a unique design with electromagnets arranged to generate an intense electric and magnetic environment, causing electrons to form a virtual cloud that traps ions at its center. This confinement increases temperature and pressure, enabling fusion reactions that release energy. While still in development, Polywell aims to offer a potentially efficient and compact way to produce clean, abundant energy without radioactive waste.
