Polyp

A polyp is an abnormal growth that develops on the inner lining of organs such as the colon, nose, or stomach. These growths can vary in size and shape and may be benign (non-cancerous) or, in some cases, develop into cancer over time. Polyps are often discovered during routine screenings or examinations and may not cause symptoms initially. Removing polyps is important, especially in the colon, to prevent potential progression to cancer. The exact cause of polyps isn't always clear, but factors like genetics, lifestyle, and inflammation can contribute to their development.
