Political Convention
A political convention is a formal gathering of a political party's members, where they select their presidential and vice-presidential candidates, set the party platform or policy priorities, and unite the party for upcoming elections. Typically held every four years, conventions also serve as a showcase for party leaders and candidates, energizing supporters and generating media attention. They involve speeches, debates, and votes, culminating in an official nomination that helps rally party members and voters behind a common candidate and message ahead of the general election.
