Polish Military Organization
The Polish Military Organization (Polska Organizacja Wojskowa, POW) was a secret paramilitary group active mainly in the early 20th century, especially during Poland’s struggle for independence from Russia, Germany, and Austria. Established in 1914, its members engaged in sabotage, intelligence gathering, and preparing for armed resistance to protect Polish interests. The organization operated clandestinely, contributing to Poland's re-establishment as an independent state in 1918. POW played a crucial role in building Poland’s military capabilities ahead of official national forces, and continued supporting national defense efforts during subsequent conflicts.
