Polish Home Army

The Polish Home Army (Armia Krajowa) was a secret military organization formed in 1939 to resist Nazi occupation during World War II. It functioned as Poland’s primary underground resistance, conducting sabotage, intelligence gathering, and supporting underground movements, including efforts to liberate Warsaw in 1944. Comprising regular soldiers, civilians, and resistance fighters, the Home Army aimed to restore Poland’s sovereignty. Although it was ultimately suppressed after the war, it remains a symbol of Polish patriotism and resistance against oppression.
