Polish concentration camp

The term “Polish concentration camp” is misleading and often used inaccurately. During World War II, Nazi Germany operated extermination and concentration camps in occupied Poland, such as Auschwitz, where millions of Jews, Romani people, political opponents, and others were murdered or imprisoned. Poland was a primary site of Nazi atrocities, but these camps were German-run facilities located within Polish territory, not Polish institutions. Using the term incorrectly can diminish Poland’s suffering and misrepresent the historical facts, so it’s better to specify “Nazi concentration and extermination camps in occupied Poland” for clarity.
