Polio Plus
PolioPlus is a global initiative launched by Rotary International to eradicate poliomyelitis (polio), a contagious viral disease that can cause paralysis. The program aims to immunize children worldwide through mass vaccination campaigns, improve surveillance to detect cases early, and support health infrastructure in vulnerable communities. By providing funding, resources, and strategic partnerships, PolioPlus seeks to eliminate polio entirely, preventing future child deaths and disabilities. Since its start in 1985, the effort has significantly reduced polio cases worldwide, bringing us closer to the goal of a polio-free world.
