Polar orbit
A polar orbit is a type of satellite path where the satellite travels over Earth's poles, passing over different regions as the planet rotates below. This orbit is nearly perpendicular to Earth's equator, allowing the satellite to cover the entire surface over time. It's commonly used for Earth observation and climate monitoring because it provides comprehensive coverage of all areas, including remote and polar regions. The satellite moves relatively quickly from pole to pole, completing one orbit approximately every 90 to 100 minutes, enabling frequent data collection across the globe.
