PNS (peripheral nervous system)
The peripheral nervous system (PNS) is the network of nerves outside the brain and spinal cord that connects them to the rest of the body. It carries sensory information from the body to the brain and spinal cord, and sends motor commands from the central nervous system to muscles and glands. The PNS includes nerves in the arms, legs, and organs, facilitating movement, sensation, and automatic functions like heartbeat and digestion. It acts as a communication system, ensuring the body responds appropriately to internal and external changes.
