Plutonic Objects

Plutonic objects are geological formations created when magma cools and solidifies slowly beneath Earth's surface. This slow cooling allows crystals to grow large and well-defined, resulting in intrusive igneous rocks like granite. These objects can appear as various shapes, such as large masses or tabular sheets, and often form the cores of mountain ranges or deep underground formations. Because they form underground, plutonic objects are typically more crystalline and coarse-grained than volcanic rocks formed from rapidly cooled lava at the surface.
