Plenary Indulgence

A plenary indulgence is a Catholic spiritual practice that grants the full remission of temporal punishment for sins already forgiven through confession. It reduces or cancels the need for penance in purgatory, symbolizing the Church’s spiritual treasury. To earn a plenary indulgence, a person must perform a specific action (such as visiting a designated church or participating in prayer), be in a state of grace, have no attached sin, and fulfill certain conditions, including prayer for Holy Roman Church. It’s a way for believers to deepen their holiness and unite with the Church's ongoing prayer effort.
