Play-action pass

A play-action pass is a football strategy where the quarterback fakes a run, pretending to hand the ball off to a running back. This action makes defenders believe it's a running play, causing them to move closer to the line of scrimmage to stop the run. As a result, the quarterback then quickly passes the ball to a receiver who has moved into an open spot downfield. This deception can create more space and opportunities for successful passing plays by confusing the defense.
