Platelet Aggregometry

Platelet aggregometry is a laboratory test that measures how well platelets, the blood cells involved in clotting, clump together in response to certain stimuli. When blood vessels are injured, platelets stick to each other to form a clot and stop bleeding. The test adds specific chemicals to a blood sample to trigger aggregation, then monitors how much clumping occurs. This helps doctors diagnose bleeding disorders or monitor the effectiveness of medications that affect platelet function. Essentially, it evaluates how effectively your platelets work together to form a clot.
