Plaster Casts

A plaster cast is a solid shell made from materials like plaster of Paris, used to immobilize and support broken or injured bones. When a bone is fractured, a cast keeps the area still, preventing movement that could cause further damage and helping the healing process. The cast is usually shaped around the affected limb or body part and dries to form a rigid, protective covering. Once the bone has healed sufficiently, the cast is removed, allowing normal movement and function to gradually resume.
