Plasmacytoma
A plasmacytoma is a type of cancer that involves abnormal growth of plasma cells, which are a part of your immune system responsible for producing antibodies. These tumors typically form in bones or soft tissues and can cause pain, swelling, or structural damage. Unlike multiple myeloma, which affects many areas of the bone marrow, plasmacytoma usually occurs as a single, localized tumor. Treatment often involves radiation therapy to target the tumor, and close monitoring is necessary to detect any progression or spread to other parts of the body.
