Plasma jets

Plasma jets are streams of highly energized, ionized gases—called plasma—that are expelled at high speeds. Plasma is the fourth state of matter, consisting of charged particles like electrons and ions. These jets are generated using electrical energy or magnetic fields and are used in various applications, such as cutting and welding metals, sterilizing medical instruments, and in research for space propulsion. They are characterized by their high temperature, brightness, and ability to transfer energy efficiently, making them powerful tools in industry and science while resembling glowing, controlled streams of plasma shooting out from a device.
