Planning Policy Guidance (PPG)
Planning Policy Guidance (PPG) was a set of government instructions in the UK that provided advice and direction on planning policies and development issues. It aimed to ensure consistent decision-making across local authorities by clarifying government priorities, such as sustainable growth, environmental protection, and community needs. Although PPGs were replaced by the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) in 2012, they served as important tools to help planners, developers, and the public understand how planning policies should be applied to shape developments responsibly and effectively.
