Planes of the Body

Planes of the body are imaginary lines used by medical professionals to divide and describe different sections, helping to locate and understand anatomical structures. The main planes are sagittal (divides the body into left and right halves), frontal or coronal (divides front and back), and transverse or horizontal (divides top and bottom). These planes aid in medical imaging, surgery, and understanding movements. Think of them as guidelines that provide a common language to describe where parts of the body are or move relative to each other.
