planes of movement
Planes of movement are imaginary flat surfaces that divide the body to help describe how we move. The three main planes are: sagittal (divides left and right, allowing forward and backward movements like walking or running), frontal or coronal (divides front and back, enabling side-to-side movements like jumping jacks), and transverse (divides top and bottom, allowing rotational movements like twisting or turning). Understanding these planes helps in analyzing and performing precise movements, improving training, and reducing injury risk by encouraging proper technique across different activities.
