Plan B (concept)
Plan B, also known as emergency contraception, is a backup method to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. It typically involves taking a high dose of a specific hormone or a dedicated pill within a certain time frame, usually up to 72 hours. The goal is to delay or prevent ovulation, reducing the chance of fertilization. It is not intended as a regular birth control method and is less effective than other options. While not abortive, it is a safe way to reduce the risk of unintended pregnancy when needed urgently.
