Placenta previa classifications
Placenta previa is a condition where the placenta covers or is near the opening of the cervix during pregnancy. It is classified into four types based on how much the placenta covers the cervix: 1. **Complete (Total)**: The placenta completely covers the cervix opening. 2. **Partial**: The placenta partially covers the cervix opening. 3. **Marginal**: The edge of the placenta reaches the cervix but does not cover it. 4. **Minor (or Low-lying)**: The placenta is located low in the uterus close to the cervix but not touching it. These classifications help guide management and delivery planning.
