Pizzagate

Pizzagate is a false conspiracy theory that emerged during the 2016 U.S. presidential election, claiming that a child exploitation ring was being operated out of a Washington, D.C. pizzeria called Comet Ping Pong, allegedly involving prominent political figures and celebrities. Despite lack of credible evidence, the theory spread online, leading to harassment and a dangerous incident when a man fired shots inside the restaurant. Experts and authorities have repeatedly debunked Pizzagate as false, viewing it as misinformation fueled by misinterpretations of hacked emails and social media narratives.
