Pitz

Pitz is a traditional Mesoamerican ball game played with a rubber ball on a court that resembles a large, narrow corridor. The objective is to get the ball through stone hoops mounted on the walls, using mainly your hips, but also hands or forearms, without letting the ball touch the ground outside the play area. The game held cultural and religious significance, symbolizing cosmic battles and community identity. It did not involve scoring points like modern sports but was more about ritual and demonstration of skill, often associated with important ceremonies or events in ancient civilizations like the Maya and Aztecs.
