Pitcher Plant

A pitcher plant is a type of carnivorous plant that traps and digests insects to obtain nutrients, especially in poor soil conditions. Its structure resembles a deep, pitcher-shaped container with a narrow opening and slippery inner walls. Insects are attracted by nectar and bright colors, then slip and fall into the bottom where they can't escape. Enzymes or bacteria in the liquid at the bottom break down the prey, allowing the plant to absorb essential nutrients. This adaptation helps pitcher plants survive in nutrient-deficient environments, such as bogs and wetlands.
