PIT Count Surveys

PIT Count Surveys, or Point-in-Time Count Surveys, are organized efforts to estimate the number of people experiencing homelessness in a specific area on a particular night. Volunteers and professionals systematically count and record individuals living on the streets, in emergency shelters, or transitional housing. These surveys help communities understand the scope of homelessness, allocate resources effectively, and assess progress over time in addressing the issue. Conducted annually or regularly, PIT counts provide valuable data to inform policies and support services aimed at reducing homelessness.
