PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor)
A Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR) detects movement by sensing infrared radiation emitted by warm objects, such as people. When someone enters its detection zone, the sensor recognizes the change in heat patterns and sends a signal, often to trigger alarms or lights. Unlike cameras, it doesn't capture images but simply identifies motion based on heat differences. PIR sensors are commonly used in security systems, automatic lighting, and occupancy detectors because they are energy-efficient, reliable, and effective at detecting human presence without invasive or complex equipment.
