Pigging
Pigging is a maintenance process used in pipelines to inspect, clean, or repair them without stopping the flow of the transported material. A device called a "pig" is inserted into one end of the pipeline and pushed through using the flow of the product or a dedicated launcher. As it moves through, it cleans debris, checks for issues, or collects data about the pipeline's condition. Once it reaches the other end, it is removed. Pigging helps ensure pipelines operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.
