Pierre-Joseph-Marie Charlevoix

Pierre-Joseph-Marie Charlevoix (1682–1761) was a French Jesuit priest and historian known for exploring and documenting North America in the early 18th century. He traveled extensively in the region, particularly in New France (now Canada), and wrote detailed accounts of its geography, peoples, and cultures. His most notable work, *Histoire et description générale de la Nouvelle-France*, provided valuable insights into the early history and life of the area.
