Picornaviridae

Picornaviridae is a family of tiny, single-stranded RNA viruses that infect humans and animals. They are known for causing a variety of illnesses, from the common cold to more severe diseases like poliomyelitis and hepatitis A. These viruses are very small and stable outside the body, making them easily spread through respiratory droplets, contaminated water, or contact with infected surfaces. Despite their size, they can cause significant health issues, but many infections are mild or resolve on their own.
