PICC line

A PICC line, or Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter, is a thin tube inserted into a vein in your arm and threaded to a larger vein near your heart. It allows healthcare providers to give medications, fluids, or nutrition directly into your bloodstream over an extended period. Because it's inserted in the arm, it’s less invasive than other central lines, and it can remain in place for weeks or months, making treatment more comfortable and reducing the need for repeated needle sticks. PICC lines help deliver treatments safely and effectively for conditions requiring long-term therapy.
