Piaget's Theory
Piaget's Theory of Cognitive Development explains how children's thinking evolves as they grow. He proposed that children progress through four stages—sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, and formal operational—each characterized by different ways of understanding the world. During these stages, children develop skills like object permanence, logical reasoning, and abstract thinking. Piaget believed that children actively explore and learn from their environment, constructing their understanding through experiences. His theory emphasizes that cognitive development is a gradual process of building more complex mental structures over time.
