Piaget's stages
Piaget's stages of cognitive development describe how children's thinking evolves as they grow. The sensorimotor stage (birth-2 years) involves exploring through senses and actions. The preoperational stage (2-7 years) features developing language and imagination but limited logical reasoning. The concrete operational stage (7-11 years) shows improved logic about concrete objects and experiences. The formal operational stage (12+ years) introduces advanced abstract thinking and problem-solving. Each stage reflects how children's understanding of the world becomes more complex, organized, and capable as they mature.
