Piłsudski's Army
Piłsudski's Army, also known as the Polish Legions, was a military force formed during World War I under the leadership of Józef Piłsudski. Established in 1914, it aimed to fight for Polish independence from partitioning powers like Russia, Austria, and Germany. The Legions fought alongside the Allies, gaining experience and legitimacy for the Polish cause. After Poland regained independence in 1918, Piłsudski’s Army played a crucial role in defending and establishing the newly sovereign state during various conflicts. It became a symbol of Polish national awakening and military resilience.
