Physical Activity Recommendations
Physical activity recommendations suggest that adults engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, like brisk walking, each week, or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity exercise, like running. Additionally, it's important to include muscle-strengthening activities on two or more days a week. For children and adolescents, 60 minutes of physical activity daily is encouraged. Regular activity helps maintain a healthy weight, improves mood, boosts heart health, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases. Small adjustments, like taking stairs instead of elevators, can also contribute to achieving these goals.
