Photovoltaic Efficiency

Photovoltaic efficiency is a measure of how effectively a solar panel converts sunlight into usable electricity. It is expressed as a percentage, representing the portion of solar energy that hits the panel and is transformed into electrical energy. For example, a 20% efficient panel turns 20% of the sunlight it receives into electricity, while the rest is lost as heat or reflected away. Higher efficiency panels produce more power in the same space, making them more effective especially where space is limited. Improving efficiency is key to making solar energy more cost-effective and widely applicable.
