Photonic Sensors

Photonic sensors detect changes in their environment by measuring how light behaves within them. They use light signals—like lasers or LEDs—to sense physical properties such as temperature, pressure, or chemical presence. When these properties change, they alter the light’s characteristics (like its intensity, phase, or wavelength). The sensor then converts these changes into electrical signals for analysis. Since light travels fast and can be precisely measured, photonic sensors are highly accurate and suitable for applications demanding high sensitivity, such as medical diagnostics, environmental monitoring, and industrial process control.
