The Phnong, also known as the Mnong or Monong, are an indigenous ethnic group primarily residing in southeastern Cambodia and southern Vietnam. They are part of the Austronesian-speaking peoples and have a rich cultural heritage rooted in agriculture, particularly rice farming and forest gathering. Traditionally, the Phnong maintain animist beliefs, worshiping nature spirits, although some have adopted Buddhism or Christianity.
