Phineas Quimby
Phineas Quimby (1802–1866) was an American healer and thinker often considered a pioneer of mental healing and the New Thought movement. He believed that the mind has the power to influence health and well-being, emphasizing the role of thoughts and beliefs in shaping physical conditions. Quimby practiced and promoted the idea that curing symptoms involved changing one's mental perception rather than solely addressing physical causes. His ideas influenced later self-help and spiritual movements, highlighting the connection between mental states and health while advocating the use of positive thinking and spiritual understanding for healing.
