Philippe Égalité

Philippe Égalité was the revolutionary name of Louis Philippe II, Duke of Orléans, a French noble who initially supported the French Revolution. Despite his royal lineage, he adopted the name "Égalité" (meaning "Equality") to show his commitment to revolutionary ideals. He played a complex role, supporting reforms and advocating for social change, but also faced periods of suspicion and exile.
