Philip of Macedonia

Philip of Macedonia was a powerful king who united the Greek city-states under his rule in the 4th century BCE. He improved Macedonia's military and political strategies, transforming it into a dominant empire. Philip planned to invade Persia but was assassinated before he could do so. His son, Alexander the Great, succeeded him and expanded the empire vastly. Philip’s leadership laid the foundation for centuries of Greek influence and altered the balance of power in the ancient world.
