Philip of Alsace
Philip of Alsace (also known as Philip I of Hainaut) was a medieval nobleman born around 1243. He was the son of Count Henry III of Luxembourg and became Count of Alsace through inheritance. Philip was also Count of Hainaut and became involved in regional politics during the 13th century. He played a significant role in the politics of the Holy Roman Empire and neighboring regions, often balancing alliances among European powers. His reign was marked by efforts to expand his influence and maintain stability in his territories until his death in 1284.
