phenotypic trait
A phenotypic trait is an observable characteristic of an organism, such as height, eye color, or blood type. These traits result from the interaction of an organism’s genes and the environment. For example, two plants may have the same genetic makeup, but if one grows in better conditions, its size or color might differ. Phenotypic traits allow us to see how genetic information is expressed in the real world, giving measurable features that help identify and classify living things. They’re the physical or visible features that distinguish one individual from another.
