Phase II Clinical Trials
Phase II clinical trials are studies conducted to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a new treatment after initial safety has been confirmed in Phase I. In this phase, the treatment is given to a larger group of people who have the condition being studied, to see if it produces the desired effect and to monitor for side effects. The goal is to determine whether the treatment works and to gather more data about its risks, helping decide whether it should proceed to larger, more definitive testing in Phase III.
