Phase Change Materials

Phase Change Materials (PCMs) are substances that store and release thermal energy through changes in their physical state, typically melting and solidifying. When the temperature rises to the PCM’s melting point, it absorbs heat and changes from solid to liquid, helping to regulate temperature. Conversely, when cooling occurs, it releases stored heat as it solidifies. PCMs are used in thermal management applications like building insulation, packaging, and electronics to improve energy efficiency by maintaining stable temperatures and reducing the need for active heating or cooling systems.
