Phase 3 Study Design

A Phase 3 study is a large-scale clinical trial that tests a new treatment or drug on a larger group of people to confirm its safety and effectiveness. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the investigational treatment or a standard treatment/placebo, often in a double-blind setup where neither the patients nor the researchers know who gets which. The goal is to gather enough evidence to determine if the new treatment works well enough for approval and widespread use. This phase helps ensure the medication is both safe and beneficial before it can become a standard therapy.
