Phallic stage

The phallic stage is a concept from developmental psychology, identified by Sigmund Freud, usually occurring between ages 3 and 6. During this period, a child's focus shifts to their genital area, and they become curious about differences between boys and girls. This stage involves developing a sense of identity, gender roles, and understanding relationships. It's also when children may experience curiosity about sexuality, which, if resolved healthily, supports healthy emotional development. Unresolved conflicts during this stage can sometimes influence future attitudes and behaviors related to gender and relationships.
