Phalen's Test

Phalen’s Test is a simple clinical assessment used to identify median nerve compression, often associated with carpal tunnel syndrome. To perform the test, you gently hold your wrists in a fully flexed (bent) position with the backs of your hands pressed together, and keep this position for about 60 seconds. If you experience tingling, numbness, or pain in your fingers—especially the thumb, index, and middle fingers—it suggests median nerve compression. This test helps healthcare providers evaluate the presence of nerve irritation or compression in the wrist area.
